Press Release Body: Kalamazoo, MI, August 13, 2008 -- Inspired by the generations of
bike lovers in her family, a local Kalamazoo woman's dream of business ownership
will come to fruition on Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kim Bates
will host the grand opening for Cycle World Accessories; which will join the
selective ranks of West Michigan's shops providing accessories and tools for
motorcycles. Located in the South Side of Kalamazoo at 3104 Lovers Lane, Cycle World
Accessories will stock unique accessories for Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and more such
as vests, face masks, helmets and more.

Now there are more then 20 million motorcycles in the country, and that number
includes the Kalamazoo/Western Michigan area," she added. "The younger generations
continue to increase this number by purchasing the sports bikes." Overall motorcycle
riders are one of the fastest growing hobby-type markets in the United States, Bates
said. According to the Motorcycle Industry Council, more than 1.1 million of them
were sold last year, a 30 percent increase over 2001 numbers.

Bates' brother Ruben Whimper, who is a Kalamazoo resident and avid motorcycle rider,
encouraged and partnered with her to pursue Cycle World Accessories. "We have a
history of motorcycle riders in our family, including my brothers and nephews. I
have great memories of my dad and my uncles all riding Harley Davidson bikes," Bates
said. Bates believes that Cycle World Accessories will be a success because of
expanding motorcycle ridership, but also wants her business to contribute toward
Kalamazoo's revitalization efforts. Kalamazoo has seen decades of business and
population declines, local government and business leaders have been supporting
small business efforts in the state.
